Will00056 Poached News: Line 9 Opening Soon, A New Budget Airline, Record Rainfall and Landslides, North Korea Walks Away...Again

The final tests on Seoul’s new subway,  (Line 9, the beige one on the new subway maps) will be completed today with the revised launch date to be announced soon.

Perhaps inspired by Air Asia,  Jin Air, a domestic airline that currently only flies from Seoul and Busan to Jeju, will start flying to select destinations in Asia at 70-80% the price of international airlines.  Flight service to Bangkok and Macau will begin in October, Japan in December, and Guam in January. There is no English option available on their website, but Jin Air is worth asking about if you are planning to travel in the Fall.

Yesterday’s severe storms in the south push the season’s rainfall in these areas to record levels and cause landslides in Busan, Masan, and Changwon.

As the June 12th Security Council resolution gains support in the region, North Korea may be feeling the pressure. Yesterday, North Korea said that they are set to walk away from the six-party talks for good. This comes as the UN is getting ready to freeze the assets and restrict travel of North Korean citizens and companies.
