Korea’s biggest opera festival is set to begin on Sept. 18th at the Daegu Opera House. The six week long event includes a fashion show presenting Korean designer Andre Kim’s take on Baroque era opera costumes (Friday Sep. 18 at 7:30pm) and the Opera Opera Concert (Wed. Sept. 23 at 7:30pm) a free event performed by the Korean Pops Orchestra. Five operas will be performed throughout the event including Puccini’s Turandot, Carl Maria von Weber’s Der Freischütz, Gaetano Donizetti‘s L’Elisir d’Amore, Georges Bizet‘s Carmen and Sung-ryong Cho’s Won’s Mother based on the novel “Neungsohwa” written by Cho Doo-jin.
